Heartland Landahl Race

After a good week of training I thought I would go take my lumps in KC and give Heartland Trumans Big Love race a try. The field was stacked with good riders form both sides of the state, I was just hoping to hang on. We started like any expert race and after the first climb it was down to a 7 or 8 of us that rode the entire first 2 laps together at break neck speeds. On the 3rd lap things started to happen, Dave made a good move getting around one guy and taking the lead. I chased for the rest of the 3rd lap and half of the 4th when Cameron Chambers and Aaron Elwell came flying by me like I was standing still out of no where. Now I'm starting to fall apart, bumping trees and loosing power. I try to keep them in sight then Mark Studnicki got around me and I watch him slowly ride away. I finished 5th over all, 3rd for my age group. This was the most fun I've had in a race all year. When every one is that close its any body's race.

Congratulations:
Dave Breslin-over all expert win
Tom Albert- 50+ expert win
John Matthews- 40+ 2nd
Wes Biermann- 30+ 6th
Team Seagal- sweeping the ss podium
